I’ll be the Keynote Speaker at LCLC 2017 in Palm Springs

I’m honored to be the 2017 keynote speaker for the  fifth annual Left Coast Lesbian Literary Conference (LCLC) held by Sapphire Books from October 4 -9, 2017 at the Skylark Hotel in Palm Springs C.  What  great venue! A remodelled rat-pack era hotel with two swimming pools and a retro vibe that just begs to be the setting for a hard-boiled crime novel featuring a hot detective. Perhaps I’ll write it.

Palm Springs has been associated with lesbian literature since 2007, when the first Bold Strokes Books Lesbian Books Festival was hosted by Casitas Laquita. Back then, I had the fun task of coordinating the author’s events for the first two years and lolling around the pool with some of the most enthusiastic lesfic readers on the planet!

The LCLC has a unique vibe – if you’ve never attended, come! This year, over twenty authors will be present, sharing their stories and perspectives.  I’ll be speaking at the Palm Springs Public Library on Saturday 7 October,  with a focus on the future of lesbian literature. I mean, do we really need romance novels now that we can legally marry?  I have some thoughts on that topic!
